Marcella “Peppy” Allman, of Mora, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014 at St. Clare’s Living Community in Mora. She was 88 years old.
MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church in Mora with Rev. Rick Marcy officiating.
MEMORIAL VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Marcella Lucille “Peppy” Allman, of Mora, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014 at St. Clare’s Living Community in Mora. She was 88 years old.
Marcella, lovingly known as Peppy, was born on March 5, 1926 in Goodhue County, Minnesota to parents William and Alta (Farr) Magnuson. She grew up in St. Paul, graduating from Mechanic Arts High School in 1944. Peppy met Lloyd W. Allman at a dance at Ann Lake. The couple was united in marriage on October 10, 1953 and settled on a farm near Quamba. Peppy worked with Lloyd on the farm and raised three children, Wendy, Gary, and Mark. After Lloyd’s death in 1999, Peppy moved into Mora where she lived at the Woodcrest Apartments for over ten years. In 2011, due to declining health, Peppy moved to St. Clare’s in Mora where she spent her final years
Peppy was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mora and worked as the church secretary for many years. She enjoyed cooking and canning for her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be missed.
Peppy is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd, and 6 siblings.
She is survived by her children, Wendy (Bob) Barr, Gary (Patricia) Allman, and Mark (Colleen) Allman; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeff) Poenix, Kellie Allman, and Kasey (Mike) Boudouris; great grandchildren, Zane Poenix and Lia Boudouris; sister Joyce (Robert) Johnson; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service was held at 11:00 am on Thurs. Jan. 8, 2015 at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Mora with Rev. Rick Marcy officiating. Visitation will be 1 hr. prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are by the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home
