G. Carda webphotoGloria Carda, of Mora, MN died on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Signe & Olivia’s in rural Ogilvie.  She was 65 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held on Tuesday, December 9th at 2:00 P.M. at Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home.

VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service (from 1:00-2:00 P.M.) on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Gloria Victory Carda, of Brook Park, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Signe and Olivia’s Assisted Living Home in Ogilvie after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.  She was 65 years old.

Gloria was born on April 9, 1949 in Windom, Minnesota to parents Allan and Betty Lou (Otten) Eggen. She grew up in Milaca, MN and attended North High High School, graduating in 1967.  Gloria married Dennis Carda in November of 1968.  To this union a daughter, Candy Lynn was born.  Gloria and Dennis lived in rural Brook Park throughout their marriage. 

Gloria was employed as a waitress for many years at Monigolds/Glenfields Restaurant in Mora.  Gloria and Dennis enjoyed dancing a good polka, traveling, and playing cards.  Gloria also enjoyed word-searches, reading, and watching soap operas.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, and her in-laws.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Dennis; daughter Candy (Neil) Grunke of Deer River; granddaughter, Laura Grunke of Chicago, IL; grandson Wesley Grunke of Deer River; sister Gayla DeSantis of Brooklyn Park; step-brother David DeGroat of New Iberia, LA; step-sister Colleen DeGroat of Sartell, MN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service was held on Tues. Dec. 9, 2014 at the Akkerman Ingebrand Chapel with Rev. Greggory Coop officiating.  Inurnment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in the spring.
