R. Johnson webphotoRuth Maxine Johnson, of Isanti, died on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.  She was 78 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2 at Stanchfield Baptist Church in Stanchfield with Rev. Tim Walker officiating.

VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service  (from 10:00-11:00 a.m.) on Tuesday at the church.

INTERMENT will be at Stanchfield Baptist Cemetery.

Ruth Maxine Johnson, of Isanti, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Coon Rapids with family at her bedside.  She fought a brief battle with cancer and passed away from complications after surgery.  She was 78 years old.
 
Ruth was born on October 31, 1935 in Grandy, Minnesota to parents Elmer and Ellen (Hallstrom) Johnson.  She attended elementary school in the Cambridge area.  She then moved to Cortland, Ohio and graduated from Bazetta High School.   Ruth moved back to Minnesota where she worked as a housekeeper and nanny.  In 1966, she started working at Honeywell and continued there for over 35 years until her retirement.

Ruth loved spending time with family and made sure everyone was always included.  She loved to travel and enjoyed watching the Twins and the Vikings and tried to attend at least one Vikings games a year with her nephew.  Ruth also had a very special place in her heart for animals.  She loved and often took care of family pets Patsy, Teddy, Newman, and Lucy.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Jeanette Johnson, Gladys Wold, and Irene Garrison; brothers, Ted and LeRoy Johnson.

She is survived by her brothers, Floyd Johnson of Los Altos, CA; and Roger (Lorna) Johnson of Stanchfield; sisters, Laverne Phouts of Ohio; Joyce Johnson of Cambridge; and Della Pearson of Isanti;  many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly; other relatives and friends who will miss her.

A Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the Stanchfield Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Walker officiating.  Music was provided by Sherree Lane.  Casket Bearers were Aaron Gunderson, Ronald Johnson, Virgil Phouts, Tim Burkstrand, Steven Reilly, Joshua Reilly, Lowell Burkstrand, and Russell Phouts.  Interment was in the Stanchfield Baptist Cemetery.  Arrangements are by the Rock Ingebrand Funeral Home of Braham.

    We are so sad for the loss of Ruth in your lives. We know how close you all were. It was always enjoyable to talk with her whenever she would pick you up or drop you off at our house.     Our deepest sympathy for the loss of Aunt Ruth, but I know she is in a better place in Heaven. I know the family will miss her because she was a genuine loving sister & friend to all who new her.
    I remember as a young child visiting Minnesota in the summers being on the farm was a great experience and my Aunt Ruth was so kind to me, she will be missed in my heart & mind. Aunt Ruthy was a special person always thinking of others, she was loved a lot and never will be forgotten
