Bonnie was born on June 7, 1934, at home in Seavey Township, Aitkin County, MN. Having graduated from McGrath School in 1952, she moved to Mpls. and worked in an office at Honeywell. June 26, 1954, she was united in marriage to Merlyn G. “Brad” Bradley, at Opstead Baptist Church, NE of Isle. They raised their three daughters in Crystal. She enjoyed being involved in the girls’ activities as well as sewing, knitting, pets, gardening and special projects. As a family, they enjoyed the outdoors, traveling and time with the extended family and friends. As the girls got older she began to work part-time with families whose children had special needs and drove a van to transport them. Later, she was employed as a Special Education Para within the Robbinsdale School District. When Brad became ill, his brother Byron had read the Bible to him, prayed and shared the gospel truth. Prior to his death, Brad came to know the Lord Jesus as his Savior. He died November 9, 1984, having suffered from scleroderma.

Later, Bonnie met William “Bill” McDermott and they were married August 9, 1986, at Brunswick Methodist Church in Crystal. Together they enjoyed gardening and traveling. Bonnie was known for her unconditional love, compassion, her smile and encouragement. She worked hard and was willing to serve whenever possible. She loved church, to laugh, dance, and spend time with family and friends. She was baptized at North Central Baptist Church. While her dementia progressed, she enjoyed singing and humming. At church she remembered the words of many of the old hymns and gospel music.
