Delores Johnson, of Los Altos, Californa; formerly of Shakopee and Grandy, Minnesota; passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Cedar Crest Nursing and Rehab in Sunnyvale, California. She was 93 years old.
FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Stanchfield Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Cope officiating.
VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
INTERMENT will be in the Stanchfield Baptist Cemetery.
Delores V. Johnson, a native Minnesotan who traveled widely with her husband, was an avid golfer, liked horse racing, and enjoyed a long life with her children and grand kids, passed away July 17 in Los Altos, CA. She was 93.
Born in Grandy, MN, she graduated from Cambridge (MN) High School in 1939 and moved to Minneapolis where she married Floyd Johnson, also from Grandy, in December 1942. After WWII, she and Floyd moved to St. Louis Park, MN, where she raised her two children and worked for the General Electric Co., as a secretary until 1974.
In 1975, she and her husband moved to Shakopee, MN, where she worked for the Johnson Block and Ready-Mix Company, a family-owned business in Shakopee. Both she and Floyd lived there until 2012 when they moved to Los Altos.
Preceding her in death where her mother, Rosella (Larson) Becklin, and her step-father, Elmer Becklin; her brother Wallace Becklin; and her sister Janice (Becklin) Gaffke.
She is survived by her husband Floyd and daughter Elaine Gray, both from Los Altos; her son Dennis Johnson from Silver Spring, MD; three grandchildren: Max Hoglund of San Jose, CA, Trevor Johnson of New Haven, CT, and Victoria “Tory” Johnson of Washington, D.C.; and three sisters: Harriet (Becklin) Erickson of St. Louis Park, MN, Louella (Becklin) Eldien of Esko, MN, and Marlene (Becklin) Morrison of Cloquet, MN.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Stanchfield Baptist Church with Pastor Dale Cope Officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Stanchfield Baptist Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Rock Ingebrand Funeral Home of Braham
