Christopher Michael Perman “Chris” or “Props”, of Ogilvie, Minnesota, lost his courageous battle with brain cancer on Friday, April 4, 2014 at his home, surrounded by family and friends. He was 45 years old.

Chris was born on February 5, 1969 in Edina, Minnesota to Bruce and Jackie (Hyk) Perman. They lived in parts of the Twin Cities before moving to Lake Tahoe, Nevada when Chris was 21 months old. At age 4 they moved back to Minnesota and at age 5 moved to Zimmerman, Minnesota where his parents still live. He attended Princeton schools and got his GED so he could enlist in the Army. He served 6 weeks before he was Honorably Discharged for medical reasons.

In 1992 Chris met Penny Kram and they were married on May 13, 2000. They have 2 children together, Cameron and Taran. Chris also has another son from a previous relationship, Brennan.  Chris and Penny lived in Princeton until 2002 before moving to their current home in Ogilvie.

Chris worked as a self-employed, over the road truck driver from 1993 until 2006. His many interests and hobbies included: racing motocross and flat track; racing street stock, super stock, and modified race cars at the Princeton, Brainerd and Cedar Lake speedways; and racing snowmobiles. He also enjoyed wildlife, computers, traveling, music, his sons and friends. Chris will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents: Bill and Melrose Perman and Stan and Elaine Hyk.

Chris is survived by his parents, Bruce and Jackie of Zimmerman; his wife, Penny of Ogilvie; his sons, Brennan Wellman of Oakdale, Cameron and Taran of Ogilvie; and his sister, Sarah  Perman (Sherry McLenon) of Roslindale, MA; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

I would like to extend a special thank you to those who helped care for my husband, Chris: Dr. Jane Achenbach, Danielle Pieles (Dani), Sandra Kram, Jessica Osell (Jess) and Tennessee (Zackary Fountain)

~ Thank you from Penny
