Maynard Lucht, of Braham, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2013 at GracePointe Crossing West Gables of Cambridge. He was 89 years old.
A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 27, 2013 at the St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church of Braham with Rev. Steve Anderson officiating.
VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at noon.
INTERMENT will be in the Rice Lake Cemetery of Braham.
Maynard Leonard Lucht, of Braham, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2013 at GracePointe Crossing West Gables in Cambridge. He was 89 years old.
Maynard was born on August 2, 1924 to parents Emil and Helena (Tessmer) Lucht in Green Isle, Minnesota. He grew up on a farm in Green Isle, but moved to Braham at the age of 16. Maynard was united in marriage to Margaret Knutson on September 28, 1957 at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Braham. Together the couple made their home on a farm east of Braham. They were blessed with two children, Scott and Roxann.
Maynard was a farmer and carpenter his entire life. He truly loved working on the farm and milking cows. Maynard was baptized and confirmed at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Green Isle, and a longtime member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Braham. Maynard enjoyed playing cards, especially Wist and Rummy. Most of all, he loved his family and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gilbert, Harry, Adolph, Elmer, Arthur, Herbert, and infant Ernie; sisters, Lillie Stoekman, Mabel Mackenthun, and Sylvia Bierman; granddaughter Rocia Lucht.
Survived by wife Margaret of Braham; son Scott (Lisa) of Braham; daughter Roxann (Henry) Gutzkow of Grasston; grandchildren Dallas, Ashley (Ryan), Jared (Nichole), Alyssa, and Justin; sister-in-law Adela Lucht of Glencoe; many other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013 at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Braham with Rev. Steve Anderson officiating. Music was provided by Sharon Jaques. Casket Bearers were Roger Anderson, Mike Lucht, Laurel Lucht, Jody Kahlow, Mitch Kahlow, Milo Sandeen, and Dave Sandeen. Interment was in the Rice Lake Cemetery in Braham. Arrangements are by the Rock Ingebrand Funeral Home of Braham.
