Rasty enjoyed participating in baseball, enjoying his position as a short stop with some of the local teams: Mora, Quamba and Pine City.  Later in life he took up the game of golf which he enjoyed almost every day.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Orville and Philip; and sister Margy Broberg.

Rasty is survived by his sister Barbara (James) Barbo and brother Oscar (Rose) Thorson Jr.; beloved friend Marilyn Radloff; plus several nieces, nephews, and friends.

  1. I only knew Rasty a short time but his love for life was contagious! He was a wonderful person and I will miss him dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and his amazing girlfriend Marilyn. Rest in peace good friend until we meet again!

  2. Rasty was so good to help us when we visited Henriette for research on Little Minnesota: 100 Towns Around 100. We were impressed with the beautiful cemetery that he meticulously maintained—you could tell that he took great pride in Henriette and the people who live there. We will remember your generosity of spirit, Rasty.
