Charles William Ballantyne Jr., of Mora, MN passed from this life, and went over the rainbow, on Friday December 6, 2013 at his home surrounded by his wife, daughter, family and friends.  He was 89 years old.

Chuck farmed most of his life and for 14 years he also worked for Marine Johnson Machine Company. He retired from Marine Johnson in July of 1981 at the age of 55.  He never retired from farming! Chuck’s other pastime was being a BIG B.S.’er.  He always had a story or joke to tell and he loved hearing them as well.  He enjoyed going to the Sportsman Café and having coffee and sharing stories with his friends.

Chuck left his mark on this world–it is in all of you!!!

  1. Daddy,

I made you a promise, and that was I would take care of Mom – I will never break that promise to you! I love you very much and will miss you so very much. I’ll miss your jokes and stories and laughter. I’ll miss how you teased the Grandchildren as they were growing up and how you started the Great Grandchildren in the same traditions. They loved their Grandpa “Junk” and the Napa “Junk”. Be Happy Daddy! I miss you already. Love You – Marie

  2. Charlie I might have only known you for a heartbeat (12 Years) But you were always respectful to me, your wisdom and candid banter will be sadly missed. Tend to the garden Charlie. Be In Peace. Will remember you always. Kevin

Thank you so very much for all the memories, the laughs, for”chastising” all of us kids to help make us have stronger character. I know your resting easy now – you have definitely earned it – and like, your sister, (Grandma Florence Ebert) keep an eye on all of us down here and steer us the best direction. All our love from Eau Claire, WI !

  4. Charlie, it’s been a few years since we fished together but I cherish the memories always. I’ll miss your jokes and thanks for always laughing at mine. I hope you and Lloyd are together wetting a line and having a laugh.

  5. Charlie, I just found out about you passing yesterday, and I cried for quite a while. I enjoyed soooo much working with you, and just as much all the grief we consantly gave each other in the store. The meat room was never the same after you left. I am so happy I got to have you in my life for those 13 years. I am no longer at the store due to health reasons, but will always smile when I think of you. You will be always missed, and you know I did grind the best 10 lbs of burger just for you! See you soon. God bless and peace to your family. Especially your sweet wife who put up with you all those years Ha Ha!
    Love to you
