She attended several schools in the area and spent some of her teen years attending North Branch High School, while being a nanny for the Ziesmer family. LaVonne moved home for her senior year of high school, graduating from Ogilvie High School in 1969. Following graduation, she spent several years working in the twin cities. LaVonne attended Pine Technical College intending to become a machinist but soon changed he career path to the health care field. She was employed for many years at Sunshine Villa, Brighter Day and Augustana Senior Development.  She loved caring for the elderly and even during her illness continued to hope that she would become well enough to go back to the work.

LaVonne had a talent for painting and drawing animals and wildlife. Some of those paintings graced the walls of her parents and grandparents homes. She also enjoyed watching birds at the feeder. LaVonne enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and always had a pot of coffee ready to share with her visitors. Her kindness was measureless. LaVonne was a loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

  1. I only knew LaVonne through work and not much personally, she was all business and a hard worker. She took pride in her work and did the job right the first time. A pleasure to work with and I esteem her.

  2. On behalf of the Ogilvie Class of 1969 and as a former classmate, I’d like to extend our sympathy.
