MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Ogilvie United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Pesola officiating

MEMORIAL VISITATION will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home of Mora and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.

Nathlie Ella Hess of Pequot Lakes, Minnesota, formerly of Ogilvie passed away on October 20th, 2013.  She was 47 years old.

Nat was born May 10th, 1966 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Minneapolis, MN to Mack Hess Sr. and Sharon (Fleek) Hess.   She was the second of five children and attended Ogilvie School until graduation in 1984.  After high school she worked for a variety of companies including Fingerhut in accounting and most recently as a licensed Realtor for Lakes & Leisure Realty and Administrative Assistant at Vacation Ownership for Less.  She was married to Jeff Johnson until such time that she met Vince Villa and their two children (Anneliese and Rayne) were born. 

Nat was baptized at Sunrise Methodist church in Mounds View, MN and confirmed at United Methodist Church in Ogilvie, MN where she was a lifelong member.  She had a passion for NASCAR, kids wrestling, football, archery, and karate.  She also loved to read steamy romance novels.  Her life was uplifted and fulfilled by the presence of children. 

She was preceded in death by her brother Mack Hess Jr. and her grandparents Guy & Orella Hess, Frank & Nathlie Fleek. 

Nat is survived by her loving children Anneliese & Rayne, parents Sharon & Mack Hess Sr., her brother Arnold Hess (Shanna, Richard, Joseph, Hailey, Tyler) and her two sisters  Laura Hess-Ulman (David Ulman),  Mary Baumann-Spooner (Hap Spooner);  family: Michael Baumann, Alan Baumann III (Kim, Talei, Kimi), Angel Spooner, Lacey Spooner (Tom Anderson), Troy Spooner (Kelly McHugh, Joe & Sianna), and the 2 men in her life Jeff Johnson, Vince Villa (BoRyan, Matisha, Calvin), plus many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.

A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, October 26th at Ogilvie United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Pesola officiating.  Music was provided by Pat Fredrick.  Honorary urn bearers were Alan Baumann III, Michael Baumann and Angel Spooner.  Arrangements were handled by Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home of Mora.

  1. “Gnat” was Nat’s nickname in high school. The priceless memories of our younger years. Nat’s smile will never be forgotten in my eyes. She was a great person and knew the perfect words to make anyone feel great. I remember in 10th grade she wrote on the back of her picture “soon your smile will be perfect, but I hope you’re always like you. Love Nat ’84” Our deepest sympathy to Sharon and the entire family.   3. My heart goes out to all of Nat’s family. We were great friends as kids and I have so many fond memories of her. She could always make me laugh so hard. Rest in peace my Friend. I am glad your suffering is over.
