Warren Kent, of Mora, died on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at his home. He was 83 years old.
FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Mora with Rev. Greggory Coop officiating.
VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
INTERMENT will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.
Memorials preferred to Zion Lutheran Preschool.
Warren Walter Kent, of Mora, Minnesota passed away on July 4, 2013 at his home in the Pine Crest Apartments. He was 83 years old.
Warren was born August 27, 1929 at home in Clark, South Dakota to Mildred (nee Benike) and Ferdinand Benter. This marriage was blessed with three children. In 1939, his mother married Harry Kent and moved to Mora, Minnesota, and Warren and his brother and sister were adopted. Four other siblings were born to this marriage. He attended Garfield School and later graduated from Mora High School in 1946.
Warren spent most of his life as a farmer working on the family dairy farm located in Comfort Township. In later years, he also worked at EPC and Harfer Industries.
Warren was baptized in Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Raymond, South Dakota, and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Mora, MN. During his life, Warren was active at Zion and also served as an elder. He put God first in his life, but also enjoyed his many nieces and nephews, and many family gatherings. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and nephew, Stephen Carlson, brother-in-law Paul Kent.
Warren is survived by his brothers (and spouses), Carl (Jennette) Kent of Pine City, Harry (Jennifer) Kent of Mora; and sisters (and spouses), Lorraine Kent of Mora, Elfreida (Don) Butler of Sturgeon Lake, Gertrude (Joel) Carlson of Mora, and Lenore (Don) Martens of Mora and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral service was held on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Mora with Rev. Greggory Coop officiating. Music was provided by Elaine Keehr. Casket Bearers were Amy Castle, Kristine Earsley, Eric Kent, Paul Kent, Rebecca Kent, Brian Martens, Mary Nordquist, and Mark Swenson; Honorary Pallbearers were all the surviving grand nieces and nephews. Interment was in the Oakwood Cemetery in Mora. Arrangements were by the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home of Mora.
