On June 22, 2013, Gorden Waldemar Pearson passed away at his home in Mora, Minnesota following a long battle with cancer. Gorden was 78 years old when he died.

Born in Minneapolis on December 27, 1934 to Vopal (Foster) and Edward Pearson, Gorden enjoyed spending many of his childhood summers at his uncle’s farm in Kerkhoven, Minnesota.  But it was at a church youth group where he met the love of his life, Audrey Dahl, and they were thus married on March 6, 1954.  Gordy eventually got a job with G&K Laundry Services where he worked faithfully for around 15 years. During that time the family quickly grew to five kids and as they outgrew houses, they moved around the Minneapolis, Brooklyn Park area.   Finally, in 1969, the seven of them made the big move up to Mora where Gordy tried his hand at farming for a while but found his real niche working as an artificial inseminator for 21st Century Genetics.   But by far the most outstanding aspect of Gorden’s life was his love and devotion to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His faith anchored him through many struggles and even in his last days and hours he was thanking his God in spite of the pain. He will be dearly missed.

Gordy was preceded in death by his parents; brother Atley Pearson and beloved dog Thor.

He is survived by his loving wife Audrey; children Sheryl (Terry) Watson of Grand Rapids MN, Debbie (Tim) Ludvigson of Big Sandy TX, Jeffrey (Margie) Pearson on Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Greg (Mary) Pearson of Minnetonka MN and Daniel Pearson of Grand Rapids MN; 13 grandchildren Sarah (Dan) Garber, Beth Watson, Eric Watson, Ryan Ludvigson, Brent Ludvigson, Drew Ludvigson, Phillip Ludvigson, Christopher Pearson, Matthew Pearson, Joseph Pearson, Julia Pearson, Adam Pearson and Jeremy Pearson; plus one great-grandson; other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, June 27th at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mora with Rev. Mike Herzog officiating.  Music was provided by Gary Nyquist and the Ludvigson family.  Honorary urn bearers were Darrel Dahlin, Jack Westerland, Jim Evenson, Quinten Peterson, Howard Kadlec and Dave Eggen.
