    “Life’s Highway”
‘Time to go’, said the angel to his soul in the room

‘Our journey, just beginning, a new place, a new home’

‘You’ve made peace with Jesus, you are forgiven,
say goodbye to family, you’ve a new life to live in’

A last look before leaving, Mary sitting bedside hand in hand,
transition is coming, door opening, last breath

Stepping forward to the crossroads from present and past,
rebuilt and restored, like a ’71 Chevelle, ready, no looking back

Restored with new parts, new paint, new tires and ragtop,
hitting the road for the first time, like first trip off the lot

New life had appeared, quick, as a dream,
wonderful and amazing as anything he’d seen

While taking first steps, no regrets and no pain,
his new body was formed, as being born again

With everything healed, at peace and at rest,
transition was finished- Mark is HOME, at last

The angel replied, ‘We have a surprise’,
looking around, couldn’t believe his new eyes

God, Jesus, and all gone before stood watching and waiting with smiles on each face

Pure joy, greetings, reunion, when finished, time to see the rest of God’s place

God said, ‘Your room is prepared, welcome, my child,
I’ve been waiting for you, waiting for the time’,

‘I sent some visitors to you with a plan to mend,
they stayed and you prayed, to make your heart right before the end’

‘The time is now come, we’ve something to do,
come with me child, this something’s for you’

‘While many are mourning your loss on the Earth,
here in MY place, we celebrate your birth’

‘Walk with me child, please follow this way,
we’ve set a table for you, to say ‘Welcome to Heaven’ today’

‘From son to father, husband and friend,
brother, nephew, uncle and more, fighter to the end’

‘The unanswered questions like ‘why him’ and ‘why now’, just send them to ME, I’ll make them whole, I know how’

‘When a person comes here, a candle is lit, single and bright, to shine on in spirit, both day and through night’

‘I’ll remind them life is good, keep his memories to live and to love’
Cherish life’s gifts, until we meet him above
