LuVerne Klemz, of Braham, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013, at his home in Braham. He was 82 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Braham with Father Nicholas Zimmer and Deacon Tom Pinataro officiating.

VISITATION will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the Rock-Ingebrand Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

INTERMENT will be on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 1:45 p.m. at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

LuVerne Richard Klemz, of Braham, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013 at his home in Braham. He was 82 years old.

LuVerne “Vern” was born on June 20, 1930 in Silver Creek, Minnesota to Herman and Clara (Krueger) Klemz. He was confirmed in Silver Creek at an early age. His family moved to Monticello for several years, then to Minneapolis.

Vern joined the Navy in 1948 and served until 1952. On June 9, 1956, he married Lucille “Lou” Goedert. The couple had five children. The family lived in Vadnais Heights for several years and then moved to Coon Rapids. In 1969, they moved to a farm northwest of Grasston. In 1990, they moved to Isanti for three years. After this, they settled in Braham.

In his early years, Vern’s jobs consisted of cement tender, house mover, and auto mechanic. He began working for Minneapolis Moline as a diesel mechanic, then advanced to plant electrician and ended in research and development.

Vern’s family was his whole life. He adored children and was always holding the babies. Vern enjoyed music and played guitar and sang at family gatherings. He loved to read, hunt, fish and visit with family and friends. He could fix anything.

Vern was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 6 sisters, and a baby son.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille “Lou,” and children; Cathy (Gary) Lidke, Ann Klemz, Richard (Barb) Klemz, Daniel (Jonelle) Klemz; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; other loving relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Braham, Minnesota. Father Nicholas Zimmer and Deacon Tom Pinataro officiated. Music was provided by Joni Nelson and Marie Grundberg. Pallbearers were Julie Jarnot, Levi Lidke, Brett Klemz, Stephanie Klemz, Cody Klemz, and Drew Klemz. Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
