Katie VanderVegt, of Ogilvie, died on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Mpls. She was 18 years old.
FUNERAL SERVICES will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 25 at St. Kathryn’s Catholic Church in Ogilvie. Fr. Eugene Plaisted, Rita Clasemann and Rev. Bob DeYoung will officiate.
VISITATION will be on Sunday, March 24 from 2:00-6:00 P.M. at Ogilvie High School in Ogilvie; plus one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
INTERMENT will be at St. Kathryn’s Catholic Cemetery.
Katie Elizabeth VanderVegt, of Ogilvie, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. She was 18 years old.
Katie was born in Princeton, Minnesota on July 25, 1994 to Mark and Mary (Schroeder) VanderVegt. She attended Ogilvie Public School where she was currently a senior, planning to graduate in May.
She loved animals and was very active in school activities. Katie played volleyball, basketball, softball and was the student director of the school musical for the past two years. She sang in the choir and played flute in the band. She loved being outdoors, caring for her horses, cats, and dogs especially spending time with family and friends.
Katie is survived by her parents Mark and Mary VanderVegt; sister Rachel VanderVegt and brother Christopher VanderVegt; grandparents Fritz and Eileen VanderVegt and Albert and Marie Schroeder; plus many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
