LaVonne Harriet Hermanson of Ogilvie Minnesota passed away on January 13th, 2013 at First Light Health System in Mora surrounded by her family.  She was 76 years old.

LaVonne was born May 30th, 1936 in Winnebago County, IA to Lauris and Wilma (Schultz) Lund. She lived in Iowa until the early 1940’s, when they moved the family to Anoka County, MN.  She attended Lake Netta School in Anoka County up until her high school years.  She married Earl H. Hermanson on December 24th, 1955 in Milaca, MN.  Nine months later they started their family, having the first of 8 children.  They lived and raised their children in Ogilvie, MN.  They were married for 32 years when she suddenly lost her one and only true love.

LaVonne was employed by Fingerhut and later Amoco (EPC) in Mora, MN until poor health led her to retirement.   Her most rewarding job was raising her 8 children.  She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, sewing, playing cards and shopping.   When her health no longer permitted her to shop she watched QVC, her favorite shopping channel.  She was always ready and willing to help her children and grandchildren and eager to know what they were all up to at any given time.  LaVonne was a wonderful wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many.  She will truly be missed by all who knew her, especially her daughter, Laurie, who lovingly took care of her during her illness.

She is preceded in death by her husband Earl, granddaughter Gracie, her parents Lauris and Wilma, two brothers Bobbie and Loren Lund.

LaVonne is survived by her children, Bonnie (Kearney) Baker of Milaca, Brian (Marilyn) Hermanson of Milaca, Cindy (Wally) Joos of Ogilvie, Erlene (Rick) Randall of Ogilvie, Wendy (Tim) Speers of Ogilvie, Laurie Hermanson of Mora, Jason (Tami) Hermanson of Foley, Tanya (Bucky) Fratzke of Ogilvie; eighteen grandchildren, Tasha and Necoe Baker, Brad, Nick and Elaina Hermanson, Brandon, Miranda and Amber Lang, Jeremiah and Nathan Randall, Rikki Lynn Stromberg, Cody, Casey and Cami Speers, Jayden and Reed Hermanson , Ailee Fratzke and Breanna Scott.; ten great grandchildren; brothers Gene (Ginger) Lund of Cedar, Mike (Dede) Lund of Grandy; sisters Caroline Luenberger of Grandy, Norma (Delmar) Gomall of Cedar, Joan Selin of Isanti, Sheryl Carlson of Lexington and sisters-in-law Mary Ann Lund of Isle and Barb Hermanson of Blaine; special Aunt Clara Voss of Mora; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 17th at Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home with Rev. Bob DeYoung officiating.  Casket bearers were Brad Hermanson, Nick Hermanson, Brandon Lang, Jeremiah Randall, Nathan Randall and Cody Speers.  Honorary Casket bearers were Casey Speers, Reed Hermanson and LaVonne’s granddaughters.  Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.
