Weston Robert Koch, of Mora, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at the North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.  He was 7 years old.

Weston was born on March 8, 2005 in Mora, Minnesota to his loving parents Nathan and Melissa (Thieman) Koch.  Weston was the eldest child and welcomed his sister Brianna Marie and brother Tucker William into the family.  Weston attended Mora Elementary School and was currently in the second grade.  He enjoyed school, especially math, and was beginning to learn wrestling.   Weston always wanted to be the best and the fastest at everything he did—run not walk– and at 100 miles an hour.   Weston was very gifted in his athletic abilities and loved doing flips on the trampoline and was a wiz at figuring out puzzles or building complicated Lego designs.  He was a quick learner, but also had perseverance to keep trying until he accomplished his goal.

Weston loved attending the Henriette Community Church and adored ringing the church bell.  He was always the star of every program from Bible School to Christmas pageants.  And he was always the loudest singer in the group.  When Weston was asked any question in Sunday School, his immediate answer was always, “Jesus”.    Weston’s favorite toys were his transformers, especially Bumblebee.  He would often take apart several toys to make his own unique creations, only limited by his imagination.

Most of all, Weston loved his family.  He was a protective brother to Brianna and Tucker.  He loved to work with his Daddy and was his constant shadow.  And he loved his mom and would give big sloppy puppy kisses.  Weston was so animated and strong willed he will be remembered in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

He is preceded in death by his aunts Arianna and Charity Koch, and several great grandparents.

Weston is survived by his loving parents Nathan and Melissa Koch; sister Brianna; brother Tucker; grandparents Steve and Joan Thieman, John and Marie Angstman, and Russ and Barb Koch;  great grandparents Clinton and Gladys Whited, LaVonne Angstman, Mary Lou and Al Saari, and Paul Mettling; aunts and uncles Nate (Jenny) Thieman, Brice Thieman , Matt (Jess) Koch, Krysti (Matt) Conway, Megan (Adam) Gable, Jordan (MaKayla Johnson) Koch, Gabriel Koch, and Caleb Koch; plus many great aunts and uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Funeral was held on Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Henriette Community Church in Henriette with Rev. Dave Dwyer officiating.  Music was provided by Kevin and Joann Cahill and Wyatt Freitag.  Casket Bearers were Brice Thieman, Nate Thieman, Matt Koch, and Jordan Koch. Interment was in the Brook Park Cemetery.

  22. We are sending our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to you at this time. We too have lost a young man (15) in our family from a hunting accident (Nov. 2011). Please know that you are not alone and that there are people who sincerely grieve with you and and want you to know that we are here for you at this time. Weston is in his Heavenly home and he is not alone there either, there are many young children for him to play with and Jesus looks over them all. Know that our Lord is with you also He is there no matter your feeling towards Him at this time. There are, sometimes, never answers as to why…. And while the pain of your loss may change it will always be there but it does get a little better with each day. Hold each other and your other two children tight and tell them all that much more how much you love them. Again we are so, so sorry for your loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers and will be for a long time.
    Sincerely, The Scofields
