Marilyn Vizenor, of Mora, MN died on Friday, November 2, 2012 at St. Clare Living Community in Mora. She was 72 years old.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE in Marilyn’s honor will be held from 2:30 – 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 10th at the Crystal Bar and Grill in Mora
INURNMENT will be at a later date.
Marilyn Jean Vizenor was born on June 22, 1940 in Brunswick Township, Kanabec County, Minnesota, to Clarence and Hilda (Mart) Sjoberg. She grew up on the family farm, the first of four children. She attended Ogilvie High School and graduated in 1959. She then lived and worked in Minneapolis.
Marilyn met Omer P. Vizenor and they married on February 5, 1973. To this union, two children were born. Omer and Marilyn lived in Minneapolis during the early part of their marriage before moving back to Mora to raise their family.
Marilyn’s hobbies included reading, sewing, cooking, and baking. She was always ready and willing to help family and friends. Marilyn was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Omer Vizenor.
Marilyn is survived by her children Mark (Alina) Vizenor of Big Lake, and Luke Vizenor of Champlin; grandchildren Ava, Josa, Noah and Lyla; brother Richard (Judy) Sjoberg of Mora; sisters Sharon Peterson of Onamia and Judy Johnson of Mora; plus many nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
