Hans F. Christensen III, of Mora, died on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 66 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at the Akkerman-Ingebrand Chapel in Mora with Rev. Mary Buckley officiating.

VISITATION will be held two hours prior to the service (12:00-2:00 p.m.) on Tuesday at the funeral home.

INTERMENT will be at Oakwood Cemetery.

Memorials perferred to the Mora Education Fund.

Hans F Christensen III (Fred), of Mora, passed away, at home after a short battle with lung cancer. He was 66 years old.

He was surrounded by family and loved ones. Fred was born in St Paul, MN, 2/27/1946. He grew up in Taylors Falls and moved back to St Paul, where he graduated from Harding High School.  He was married to Patricia Hancock on 3/31/1967. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. They moved to Mora in 1971. Fred was a member of the Pipefitter/Steamfitters Local  455 for 42 years.  He worked on many large projects, including the Trans- Atlantic Pipeline, as well as Epcot Center.  After retirement, Fred was often found at the Gamers Den in Cambridge, MN. He spent weekends at the family lake property in Cohasset where he spent many hours on the lake, in search of the big one, and teaching grandchildren about fishing.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Hans Christensen Jr and Thelma Rose Cook Christensen.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia, children: Dawn Marinaro (Gino) of St Cloud, Junette Forslund (Rolf) of Mora, Rhonda Becker (Joseph) of Mora, and Hans Christensen IV (Jackie) of Ham Lake and grandchildren, Alex, Ashlee, Hans V, Ella and Finn. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Jerold and Glen, and 3 sisters, Sharon, Shirley and Lois. He leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews along with many friends. 

Services was held at Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 7th, with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery.  Mora American Legion Post 201 provided military honors.
