Dale Hill Sr., of Braham, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2012 at his home. He was 62 years old.
MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Rock Ingebrand Funeral Home of Baham.
MEMORIAL VISITATION will be held 1 hour prior to the service.
Dale Arthur Hill Sr., of Braham, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2012 at his home. He was 62 years old.
Dale was born on December 7, 1949 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to parents Eugene and Pearl (Erickson) Hill. He grew up in the Fridley area and as a young man, enlisted in the United States Army. He served during the Vietnam Conflict as a communication operator. After his discharge, Dale returned to Minnesota where he was married and had four children, Dale Jr., Dwayne, Dennis, and Angela. Dale began his career working for Northwestern Bell as a telephone service technician and after a few years, was given a transfer to Southern Bell in Amarillo, Texas. In July of 2000, Dale retired after more than 30 years with Southern Bell. He returned to Minnesota to be closer to his children and grandchildren. In December of 2000, Dale met Linda Forster. The couple was united in marriage on October 7, 2007 at their home in Braham, Minnesota.
Dale was never one to sit around. He enjoyed spending time fishing, playing chess and cards–especially 313 and 7 up/ 7 down. Dale liked to travel, taking many family vacations and car trips across the country. Dale loved to stay active; he played softball and golf in his younger years and enjoyed bowling on a league for several years. Dale loved to dance. At home he was the undisputed “Grill-master” making the best BBQ chicken around. Dale will be remembered as a generous and giving man with a wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Donny and Kenny, and sister Sharon.
He is survived by his wife Linda of Braham, children Dale Jr. of Stanchfield, Dwayne of Dawson, Dennis (Lisa) of Grasston, and Angela of Cambridge; step-daughters Jessica Dircks of Grasston and Shayna Forster of Hopkins; 22 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; twin brother Dean (Renee) of Waco, TX; sisters Linda, Sandy, and Suzie all of Superior, WI; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Rock Ingebrand Funeral Home of Braham with Pastor Mike Flynn officiating. Military Honors were provided by the Minnesota National Guard Honor Team. Arrangements were by the Rock Ingebrand Funeral Home of Braham.
