JOAN FLUEGGE

Joan Fluegge, of Mora, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Mercy Hospital. She was 62 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICE  will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, July 30, 2012 at Grace Lutheral Church in Mora. Pastor Brenda Wicklund will officiate.

VISITATION will be held from 5-8 P.M.  on Sunday, July 29. at Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home in Mora.  Memorial Visitation will be 1 hr. prior to the service on Monday.

INTERMENT will be in Oakwood Cemetery  in Mora.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Eastern Star Scholarship Fund.

Joan Marie Fluegge, age 62, of Mora, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN, surrounded by her loving family.

Joan was born on December 19, 1949 at Miller Hospital in St. Paul, MN, the daughter of Kenneth and Violet (Carlson) Olson. In 1967, she graduated from Mora High School. Joan married Robert W. Fluegge in 1967. They were later divorced. Together they had two children, Teri and Tim. She was employed at the Mora Advertiser, People’s National Bank and Kanabec State Bank. The last 25 years, Joan was employed at the Kanabec County Sheriff’s Department as a 911 Operator/Jailer.

Joan was a confirmed member of Zion Lutheran Church and a member of Grace Lutheran both in Mora. Joan was a member of the Eastern Star, including serving as Past Worthy Matron. Her three loves in life were her family, work and Eastern Star. Joan loved making her family and friends happy; if you needed anything Joan was right there, no questions asked. 

Joan is survived by her two children: Teri (Kevin) Hanson and their daughter, Tabitha, of Colby, WI and Tim (Dana) Fluegge and their children, Bohdi, Braden and Brinley of Mora. She is also survived by her father, Kenny Olson of Mora, her uncle, Ron (Paula) Olson of Mora, aunts, uncles, many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Joan was preceded in death by her mother, Violet, grandparents, aunts and uncles.

    You have helped save lives and property in Kanabec County for so many years. Most people you helped never even met you or knew your name. I count myself richer for having known you. Thanks for your dedication and your friendship. The office will never be the same. You will be greatly missed.

  2. So sorry to hear about Joan’s passing. I worked with Joan at the Kanabec County Sheriff’s Office for about 4 years. (1999-2003) She was a very dedicated, hard-working gal with a huge heart. Her smile will never be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are will all of her family, friends and co-workers during this difficult time. “And he will raise her up on Eagles Wings”
