Joe Vanderberg, of Mora, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.  He ws 76 years old.

A private family service was held.



Henry Joseph Vanderberg Jr, “Joe”, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.  He was 76 years old.

Henry Joseph was born on July 5, 1936 in Braham, Minnesota to parents Henry Joseph Sr. and Helen Clarissa (Daubaton) Vanderberg.  He graduated from Ogilvie High School in 1954.  In 1959, He was united in marriage to Lorraine Burmeister.  To this union they had six children.

Joe took instructions from St. Paul’s Lutheran church in Ogilvie where he learned about God.   He owned and operated a dairy farm in Ogilvie, Minnesota for 45 years and enjoyed farming with his sons.  Joe enjoyed having coffee and visiting with friends.  He will be missed.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Lorraine, sons Robert, David, and William (Holly); daughters Pamela (Jeff) Carlson, Cynthia (Wes) Arends, and Robin (Mike) Saari; 11 grandchildren Kristine Carlson, Linda (Weston) Heuer, Erica Vanderberg, Shawna Vanderberg, Ashley (Chad) Karlsson, Amy Arends, Erin Saari, Chad Saari, Zachariah Vanderberg, Ezekiel Vanderberg and Caleb Vanderberg; great grandchildren Jeffrey and Diana Heuer and Mackenzie Borst; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A private family service was held at the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home.

  3. I was just looking up someone from the Mora area and noticed that Joe had left the earth on July 11th. He was the same age my mom was when she left this earth 2 years ago on Aug. 8th. I know that you all have a lot of fond memories of your dad or grandpa. He was an amazing man just like you all are! Gods peace to you all. Deb
