Russel VanVickle, of Brook Park, MN died suddenly on June 5, 2012 in North Dakota. He was 61 years old.
A MEMORIAL VISITATION will be held on Saturday, June 23rd from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home.
INURNMENT will be at Oakwood Cemetery with military honors provided by Mora American Legion Post 201.
Russel A. “Buck” VanVickle, age 61, of Brook Park, left us unexpectedly on June 5, 2012 from injuries in a motorcycle accident.
Russel served in the U.S. Army as Master Sargent, serving in Vietnam from 1968-1971. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Medal of Commendation for Heroic Achievement, and was an M-16 marksman, and M-14 sharpshooter.
He was preceded in death by his wife Debbie; father Dwain “Spike”, sisters Shila, Diane and Cheryl; father-in-law Alvah Williams; sister-in-law Carol Starr.
Buck is survived by his sons Duaine and wife Vinessa of Hinckley, Brian and wife Cari of Forest Lake; grandson and joy of his life Jordan; unborn grandchild due in October; mother Kate Anderson of Motley; brothers Dwight VanViickle and Robert Anderson; sisters Bev, Barb, Betty, Patty and Sandy. Also surviving are Debbie’s family; mother Bonnie (Jean) Williams; brothers and sisters-in-law Joe and Wendy Starr, Kelvin & Judy Bonneman, Diane Fleener, Scott & Brenda Drewitz, Allen & Brenda Williams; many nieces and nephews; family and friends.
