Ardyce loved to cook and worked at a variety of restaurants in the towns where they lived.  Ardyce began working at Fingerhut in Alexandria and was given a transfer to the Mora location and she and John moved to a home in Grasston.   She worked as an inspector for Fingerhut for many years until she retired in 1989.  In 1990, due to John’s declining health, they moved to an apartment in Mora.  After John’s death in 1993, Ardyce moved to the Pine Crest Apartments were she was an active member of the apartment community.  She took time to drive other residents to shopping and appointments, and contributed food to many potluck events.

Ardyce loved spending time doing craft projects, especially needlepoint.  She would often give her latest project to her many family and friends.  In her younger years, Ardyce always kept a large garden and would spend hours canning for her family.  She enjoyed reading and doing word finds.  Ardyce was a member of the Grasston Baptist Church and more recently the Hillman Baptist Church.  Most of all, Ardyce loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She will be missed.
