Delores Koch, of Brook Park, MN died on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at St. Claire Living Community in Mora.  She was 79 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICES will be held on Saturday, May 12th at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kroschel with Rev. Michael Breach officiating.

VISITATION will be from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Friday, May 11th at Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home in Mora; plus one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.

INTERMENT will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.

Delores Ardelle Koch of Pomroy township, Brook Park, Minnesota passed away on Wednesday, May 9th at St.Claire Living Community in Mora, where she had resided for the past three years, at the age of 79.

She was born on October, 21, 1932, to George and Myrna (Smith) Bassett in Ford Township.  She attended school in Warman .

On April 23rd, 1949, she married Harry Koch and together they started farming on the family homestead.  To them were born three children.  During her lifetime she kept busy with dairy and beef farming, gardening and canning.  She also worked as a smokechaser in the Pomroy fire tower for a few years, and a fire warden for more than 25 years.  She was involved with church activities until health issues prevented her from participating any longer.  Delores was a Stanley Home products representative for many years.  She also happily put up with the mess of making gingerbread houses each holiday season with the kids and grandkids. 

Delores was preceded in death by her husband Harry,  parents George and Myrna Bassett, brother Donald Bassett.  She is survived by children- Elaine (Gary) Alderink, Harriet (Richard) Suomala, and Wayne Koch (Kathy Hayen).  Grandchildren-Julie Alderink (Troy Fasching), Kristen (Chad) Nolan, April Alderink (Shane Rothstein) , Jessi (Jared) Rakness, Jon (Charice) Suomala, Jamie (Jessica) Koch, and Kim Koch and fourteen great grandchildren-Andrew, Hannah, Hunter, Emma, Zander, Bergan, Anja,  David, Matthew, Lucas, Ava, Kyle, Jerome and Jarius. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, aunts, uncle, brother-in-law and many cousins including special cousin, Albert Foust.

Funeral services are on Saturday, May 12th at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Kroschel, Rev. Michael Breach officiating.  Pallbearers are Jamie Koch, Jon Suomala, Jared Rakness, Troy Fasching, Chad Nolan and Shane Rothstein. Honorary pallbearers are Julie Alderink, Kristen Nolan, April Alderink, Jessi Rakness, and Kim Koch.
