Arvid M. Neuschwander, of rural Ogilvie, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.  He was 54 years old.
Arvid Michael Neuschwander, born November 24, 1957 and grew up in Mounds View, lovingly known as “Mickey”, He graduated from Irondale High school. While in high school, Arvid worked at McDonald’s and during his senior year, he began working at FMC Corporation which lasted for the next 17 years, in which he held a variety of positions; beginning as a janitor but spending the vast majority of those years in the shipping and receiving department.  Arvid had married his high school sweetheart and together the couple moved to Coon Rapids and raised 3 children, until early 1992, when he divorced… and was then, permanently laid off in 1993 from FMC with several thousand others.
In November 1992, he met his true love and soul mate (with another daughter and son) and worked a variety of jobs such as a supervisor at Merit Enterprises until Lightstone Enterprises stole him away to be their Plant Manager. He finally convinced his “love” to get married and they did on August 1, 2009.  She remained by his side until they said their final goodbyes.
Arvid loved to hunt and fish just as he enjoyed teaching “his boys” these hobbies and was looking forward to hunting someday with Logan & Riley. He had a fascination with finding and polishing rocks he picked up while taking walks and then turning them into jewelry.  He loved growing vegetables in his garden.  He would always take time to sit and visit over a few drinks when people would stop by; and was a fantastic cook (just ask anyone who ever ate his BBQ ribs…)! He also found it hard to say “no” to a great box of pull-tabs …
Arvid was preceded in death by his mother, Darlene; father, Max; nephew, Aaron Neuschwander; maternal grandfather Arvid M. Larson; father-in-law, Lyle Cramer; mother-in-law, Betty Spencer; brother-in-law, Michael Cramer.
He is survived by his wife, Christine “Tina” of Ogilvie and his special 4-legged companion Katie; children, Amanda (Todd) Lenz of Brooklyn Park, Christine of Coon Rapids, Jake of Coon Rapids; stepchildren, Lindsay Nelson of Maple Grove, Brandon Waller of Ogilvie; 6 grandchildren; brothers, Jeff (Cherri) of Waseca, Albert (Trudy) of Mora; sister, Jodi (Ray) Hedrick of Mounds View; also many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30pm on Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home of Mora.  A memorial visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.  Honorary Urn Bearers are Brandon Waller, Christopher Neuschwander, Josh Neuschwander, Dustin Neuschwander, Logan Nelson, and Riley Nelson.
