Lynne Marie Besser died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at her home, Signe and Olivia’s Assisted Living, at the age of 59.  She was born on September 24, 1952, to Lorraine (Norrgard) and Morris Besser in Princeton, Minnesota, and lived in the Ogilvie area her entire life.  In October of 2009 she moved to Signe and Olivia’s, where she resided until her death.

Lynne started her school years at Ogilvie Elementary School, and from there began attending Brighter Day Activity Center in Mora, known today as Industries Incorporated.  She thoroughly enjoyed her many years there, along with the many opportunities and friendships that were so important to her.  She was among the first individuals with disabilities to be served by BDAC and only recently retired from Industries Inc.

What mattered most to Lynne were her faith and her family.  She was baptized on October 12, 1952, and confirmed her Christian faith on April 4, 1968, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ogilvie, where she was a member her entire life. She cared deeply about her spiritual life and lived her faith everyday.  She looked forward to weekly worship and all church activities.  Also special were Sunday dinners with her family, including her nieces and nephews, whom she loved and enjoyed.  Her other interests included watching sports, especially football; Country Music and music in general; and quiet time spent reading or watching television.  She was fortunate to have a wonderful social life and anyone who knew Lynne loved and enjoyed her as well.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.  Lynne is survived by brothers Brent and wife Pattie Besser, and Brian Besser, all of Ogilvie; sister Karen and husband Jim Danielson of Mora; nephews and nieces Brooke (Jeremy) Stulc, Benji Besser, Brandon (Mary) Besser, Blaine (Melissa) Besser, Katie (Nate) Koenings, Nathan (Jessica) Kirschner, and Jordan Kirschner.

A Funeral Service was held at 1:00pm on Friday, March 30, 2012 at St Paul’s Lutheran Church of Ogilvie with Rev. Marc Freiberg officiating. Music was provided by Deb Menze and Bonnie Grunke.  Casket Bearers were Brooke Stulc, Benji Besser, Nathan Kirschner, Jordan Kirschner, Brandon Besser, Blaine Besser, and Katie Koenings.  Interment was in the Graceland Cemetery in Ogilvie.  Arrangements were by the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home of Mora.

  1. My friend Lynne….I was thinking about you last week! I still have the recipe you gave me after all these many years! Your mother used to make it for your lunch and you said it was really good and you were right…of course! Thoughts of you always make me smile! Blessings to your family, Suzanne

  2. Dearest Lynne, I have so many fond memories of attending church with you and with working together in Mora. You always bring a smile to my face. You gave me several good recipes that I continue to make to this day. I’ll miss you.

  3. People that are part of your life, even if you did not know them well, can teach you many things. Johnny Peterson, Lynne and a few others did that for me. I cannot say that I actually knew that then or even ever voiced that as a kid yet the lessons were learned and are valued as an adult. So Lynne thank you for that, for being an active in the community … and to the Besser family, I am sorry for your loss.

  4. To the Bessers,
I remember Lynne well as she was a friend to my sister Jane who passed away 3 years ago. Our families worked hard to provide education and socialization for our special family members.
    My sympathy to you.

  5. I remember Lynne well from working at Industries, Incorporated. My sympathies to her family and friends.

  6. Lynne was a classmate of mine. She was truly a delight and full of spirit! I’m sure she will be missed but I’m also sure she left many wonderful memories! :)
