EUGENE EARL KEEHR

Gene E. Keehr of Mora, died on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.  He was 66 years old.

MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held  at 7:00 pm. on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Mora with Rev Dean Oelfke Officiating.

MEMORIAL VISITATION  will be 2 hours prior to the service, from 5 to 7 P.M., at the church on Thursday.

Eugene Earl Keehr passed away, surrounded by his entire family, on Saturday, December 10th, 2011.  He died from complications of a massive stroke. Gene was 66 years old.
Gene was born October 15th, 1945 in rural Ogilvie to Ervin and Evelyn (Brown) Keehr. He was the youngest of six children. He attended Ogilvie public schools. He received his HVAC education from Dunwoody College. He married his high school sweetheart Diana Lobdell, on January 23rd, 1965 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ogilvie. They made their home in Mora and raised 4 children.
For over 30 years Gene serviced the local community as owner of Gene’s Heating and Service Center. He met many customers and friends through his business. He had a great love for the outdoors and was an avid Vikings fan. His true passion was his children and his grandchildren.
Gene is survived by his wife Diana. His four children Cindy (Jon) Larson, Debra (Todd) Tomczik, Karen Keehr, and Chad (Elaine) Keehr and his five grandchildren Brandon, Mackenzie, Paige, Claire and Isabelle, and the Larson’s visiting exchange student Manon.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Richard.
He is also survived by his sisters Marge Yager , Della (LaVerne) Moen, Arlene Coplan, and Joyce Thompson, plus many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

  7. I will never forget Gene coming out to our house ~ late on Christmas Eve about 28 years ago….never acted like it was a problem to be out on a cold cold holiday… and never charged us for the extra special call on Christmas Eve! You will be missed Gene! Thoughts and prayers to the family.

  10. I am so very sorry for your loss. Gene was a wonderful man. We had many wonderful conversations over the last 10 years while he worked on my furnace. He never minded me watching over his shoulder and asking all kinds of questions while he worked. He will be missed.
