Stanford V. Harper of Braham, died on Saturday, Nov. 12, at Grace Point Crossing East Gables in Cambridge, MN. He was 82 years old.
FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 10:00 am. on Friday, Nov. 18, at Rock-Ingebrand Funeral Home in Braham. Rev. Rich Chronis and Bob Knowles will officiate.
VISITATION will be held on Thursday, Nov. 17 from 5-7 pm. at Rock-Ingebrand Funeral Home and one hr. prior to the service.
INTERMENT will be at 2 pm in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at Little Falls, MN
Stanford V. Harper, of Braham, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Grace Pointe Crossing East Gables of Cambridge. He was 82 years old.
Stan was born on July 22, 1929 in Sublett, Idaho to parents Richard Golden Harper and Ruby Nelda Rigby. In 1950 Stan joined the United States Air Force and as stationed in Germany where he met Irma Kϋhn. The couple was united in marriage on March 27, 1954 on the airbase in Germany. After his discharge, Stan and Irma returned to Burley, Idaho, where Stan served an additional 8 years with the National Guard. In 1958 they welcomed a daughter, Ruby Ann into their family. Together the family moved to Braham in 1965. For the next 30 years, Stan worked for Dahlman Manufacturing until they closed. For several years he drove school bus in Braham, and worked as a handyman around town. Stan also spent many years teaching gun safety and snowmobile safety courses in Braham.
Stan’s hobbies were bowling and golfing, depending on the season. He was very good at both sports. Stan was blessed with two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He will be very much missed by his family forever.
Stan is survived by his wife Irma, daughter Ruby Ann (Michael) Billstrom, granddaughters Heidi (David) Steiger and Susanna (Ted) Miller; great grandchildren Kaeleigh, Brexstan, Jaidien, and Destyne; brother Dale Harper; sisters Lavanda (Harry) Hensen, Sharon (Jerry) Adams, Nelda Suz Adams, Marge Dalton, and Shirley Halford; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Funeral Service was held on Friday, November 18, 2011 at the Rock Ingebrand Funeral home with Rev. Rich Chronis and Robert Knowles officiating. Music was provided by Suzanna Miller and Rich Chronis. Interment and Military Honors were provided by the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery of Little Falls.
