Randy Elstad, of Brainerd, formerly of Mora, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2011 at the St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd.  He was 53 years old.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, September 23, 2011 at the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home of Mora.

VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service, from 2:00-3:00 PM.

Randolph “Randy” Curtis Elstad was born on August 1, 1958 at Mora, Minnesota to Gene and Reva (Ketter) Elstad.  He grew up on the family farm by Coin attending the Coin School for 6 years with perfect attendance.  He also attended Mora and Milaca High Schools.  While at Milaca he met Shari Bushnell and to this union two daughters were born; Alisha and Jackie.

He was employed as a mechanic and welder during his working career.  They lived in Centerville, Ogilvie, New Hope and later in Brainerd.  He enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing and camping.  The family spent yearly outings together.  He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father Gene Elstad; grandparents Wm. and Mary Ketter, and Vic and Avis Nelson.

Randy is survived by his mother Reva Elstad of Mora; daughter and son-in-law Alisha and Clint Holter of Princeton; daughter Jackie Elstad of Chicago; grandchildren Ethan, Elija, Evan, Rolando, Cassandra and Ariella; three brothers Russell of Richmond, VA, Richard of Stacy, MN and Robert of Ham Lake, MN; one sister Roxanne Elstad of Cambridge, MN; plus nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service was held on Friday, September 23rd at Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home in Mora with Rev. Harry Nelson officiating.  Music was provided by Dick Lilienthal and Mary Campbell.
