Edith Stromberg, of Mora, died on Wednesday, September, 14th at GracePoint Crossing in Cambridge, MN.  She was 91 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held on Sunday, September 18th, 2:00 P.M. at Grace Lutheran Church in Mora.

VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday.

INTERMENT will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.

Edith Ellen Stromberg, died at GracePointe Crossing East in Cambridge, on September 14, 2011.  She was 91 years old.

She was born to Hilmer and Lena (Nelson) Peterson on October 29, 1919 in Kanabec County.  Edith attended school in Knife Lake township.

She married Walfred O. Stromberg on June 8, 1940.  They resided in Brunswick and Kroschell townships but spend most of their lives together on a dairy farm in Knife Lake township.  Her passion was gardening.  She grew vegetables in her 2 or 3 gardens.  After preparing and canning the produce, she would always have extra to give to her children and grandchildren.  She also liked to bake, and her homemade bread was the best.

Edith Stromberg is preceded in death by her parents; husband Walfred; sister Edna Wenholz; and daughter-in-law Barbara.

She is survived by daughter Jean (Stromberg) Hawkins and husband Dale; sons John Stromberg and wife Sandra, Gary Stromberg and wife Jill; six grandchildren Dawn (Hawkins) Hinrichs and husband Tim, Jason Hawkins and wife Jennifer, Denise (Stromberg) Litchfield and husband Brian, Renee Calander, Erik Stromberg and Kyle Stromberg, ten great-grandchildren Abigail Hinrichs, Sydney Hinrichs, Chance Hinrichs, Colton Hinrichs, Austin Kadlec, Addison Hawkins, Ryan Hawkins, Taylor Litchfield, Logan Litchfield, and Trenton Litchfield; sister Martha Gates; many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 18 at Grace Lutheran Church of Mora with Rev. Brenda Wicklund officiating.  Music was provided by Jackie Peterson.  Casketbearers were Erick Stromberg, Jason Hawkins, Kyle Stromberg, Gary Stromberg, Tim Hinrichs, and John Stromberg.  Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.
