Everette Charles Rodenborg Jr, of Mora, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the First Light Health Care System in Mora.  He was 62 years old.
Everette, lovingly known by his family as Butch, was born on June 26, 1949 in Braham, Minnesota to parents Everette and Betty (Blake) Rodenborg.  Everette was born with a mental handicap and was unable to communicate by means of talking throughout his life.  Butch was the eldest of seven children and grew up on the family farm.  He loved to play with his younger brothers and sisters and would spend hours rolling an old tire up and down the hill, laughing in delight each time it rolled down the hill again.  At the age of seven, Butch was unable to remain at home and was placed in a group home in Sauk Center.  He lived there for two years before moving to a home in Cambridge and closer to his family.   For the majority of his life, Butch lived in a home in Center City.  He was involved in many activities with the other residents, including bowling outings, a fishing trip to Canada, and many other adventures.  Butch was always ready for family visitors, especially his mother Betty, and would stand by the window saying goodbye until she would drive away at the end of the day.  He loved car rides with his family, watching out the window while listening to the radio.  He enjoyed returning to the family farm for picnics, especially if they included orange soda, no ice. In 2006 Butch moved to a home in Mora, closer to his mother and siblings.  He worked at Industries Incorporated, where he was known as “Evie” and received the award of Employee of the Month.  He will be dearly missed here but is now home in heaven, talking non-stop.
Butch was preceded in death by his grandparents Henry and Golda Rodenborg, and Charles and Rachel Blake, and his father Everette Rodenborg Sr.
He is survived by his mother Betty of Mora, brothers Vern of Mora, John of Mora, Ivan (Becky) of St. Cloud, and David (Heidi) of Mora; sisters Irene (Paul) Pojanowski of Ham Lake and Cindy (Allan) Motschenbacher of Mora; plus many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
