Margaret E. Olson, of the Maple Ridge area, died Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Grace Pointe Crossing West in Cambridge, MN. She was 94 years old.
FUNERAL SERVICE will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Siloa Lutheran Church.
VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
INTERMENT will be in the Siloa Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Margaret Erica Olson of Cambridge, Minnesota, formerly of Maple Ridge Township in Rural Braham, passed away on September 4, 2011 at GracePointe Crossing West. She was 94 years of age.
Margaret was born November 30, 1916 in Grasston, Minnesota to John Hilding and Anna (Fredrickson) Moline. She lived in many small towns in Minnesota as a child, but primarily in Milaca where she attended public school through 10th grade.
She later lived and worked in Minneapolis and Omaha, NE before returning to the Stanchfield area, working in Cambridge. She met Wilmer Olson whom she married May 15, 1940. They lived in Maple Ridge Township until selling their farm in 1996.
Margaret was an active member of the community, served on the Day School board, and was an active member of Siloa Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed music, playing piano and organ, and singing in the church choir etc. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, vegetable and flower gardening, toll painting, crossword puzzles and playing scrabble.
Margaret was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be truly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wilmer, Brother Harold Moline (Ann), half- brother Clark Moline (Judy), step brother Melvin Smith (Judy), and infant sister Marvelle.
Margaret is survived by sons John (Elke) of rural Ogilvie, MN, Paul (Pam) of Elk River, MN; grandchildren Heike Elder (Peter) of St. Paul, James Olson of Dallas, TX, Yvonne Henneman (Steve) of Maple Ridge, Kimberly Bader (Randy) of Becker, Kristie Fitzpatrick (Michael) of Monticello, Daniel Olson (Cassandra) of Zimmerman; 15 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
