Hubert Schultz, of Mora, died on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at his home.  He was 74 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 1st at Zion Lutheran Church in Mora.

VISITATION will be from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 31st at Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home; plus 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Hubert Oscar Schultz quietly passed away at his home in Mora on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at the age of 74 years old.
Hubert “Hub”Schultz was born February 11, 1937 at Sargeant (Mower County), MN to Oscar and Lucile (Belden) Schultz.  He attended school in Lyle, MN and entered the Army in 1955, serving in the 87th Infantry Division, Tank Company until January 1958 after spending 26 months in Germany.  While Hub was in the service his parents moved to a farm in rural Mora.  Shortly after joining his parents on this farm, he met and subsequently married Martha Posey on August 1, 1959 at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ogilvie.  The couple then lived in St. Cloud for several years while Hub attended St. Cloud State College and St. Cloud Business College.  They returned to Kanabec County in 1962 and lived in several different locations after fixing/remodeling or building their homes.  They had 2 sons and 1 daughter.  In addition to farming, Hub worked at the old Ford Garage in Mora, Arcon Construction, Fingerhut and Norcon Construction.  He retired in March of 2000 after 20 years as a lineman for Mora Municipal Utilities.
He was baptized at the Lutheran Church in Sargeant, MN and confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Lyle, MN.  He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Mora at the time of his death.  He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing; and especially enjoyed spending time at the lake and with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Herbert Schultz; nephew Dale Schultz; granddaughter Janet Schultz; and daughter Rebecca Schultz.
He is survived by his wife Martha of Mora; sons Michael (Naomi) of Brook Park, and Wade (Stefani) of Braham; grandchildren Jennifer (Joel) Koopman, Lacey Schultz, Avery Schultz, Laura Schultz, Karl Schultz and Grace Schultz; aunt Margaret Brandon of Austin; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Funeral Service was held on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at the Zion Lutheran Church of Mora with Pastor Greggory Coop and Pastor Gary Schultz officiating.  Music was provided by Karen Kirschner-Danielson and Jeanne McNally.  Pallbearers were Thomas Brandon, Terry Brandon, Jim Johnson, Duane Warmbold, Terry Rohne and Scott Harelson.  Honorary Pallbearers were Lee Bitner, John Posey, Elgin Kadlec, Jerry Wallace and Bob Kroschel.  Military honors were provided by the Mora American Legion Post 201.   Interment was at the Riverside Cemetery in Brunswick.

We were wishing we could come up but that long drive seems so much longer when you get to our age. Just know we are thinking of you and praying that you will be comforted through this new phase in your life.
