Rodney G. Nelson, of Ogilvie, died on August 22, 2011 at his home. He was 58 years old.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 17th at Rodney’s home.
Rodney Gordon Nelson, of Coin, MN, passed away on August 22, 2011 at his home in Coin. He was 58 years old.
Rodney was born May 14, 1953 at Braham Hospital to Gordon and Marie (DeYoung) Nelson. He grew up on the family farm, the youngest of two siblings, and attended country school. After graduating from Ogilvie High School in 1971 he took over the family farm. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, trapping, motorcycling, snowmobiling and mechanic work.
Rodney was paralyzed in a motorcycle accident on August 16, 1996. He was classified as a quadriplegic, but with the help of technology he could use his hands. He spent the last 15 years under the care of his sons at home. He was very generous and was always willing to help family and friends.
He will be missed by all who knew and love him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rodney is survived by his sons Duane, David of Coin and Clint of Mora; and brother Rollin Nelson and his wife Joanne of Mora, MN
