LILLIAN VIRGINIA JOHNSON

Lillian Virginia  Johnson, of Mora, died on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.  She was 93 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held on Thursday, June 23rd, 11:00 AM at Calvary Lutheran Church in Mora.  Rev. Dean Oelfke will officiate.

VISITATION will be on Wednesday, June 22 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home

INTERMENT will be at Oakwood Cemetery.

Lillian Virginia Johnson of Mora, Minnesota passed away on June 19th, 2011 shortly after being admitted to Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.  She was 93 years old.

Lillian was born on March 30th, 1918 in Ogilvie, MN to Frank and Agnes (Hedberg) Bogren.  She grew up in Ogilvie, MN with her brother Vernon and sister Dorothy (Anderson).  She attended Ogilvie Public School and graduated Valedictorian of her class in 1936, which lead to a lifelong love of learning.  She married Kermit Woodrow Johnson of Mora on December 7th, 1940.  They lived in Mora where they raised their son, Wayne and daughter Beverly.  Kermit passed away September 4th, 1967.

For over 71 years Lillian was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church.   She was happiest when surrounded by family and friends sharing a good laugh.  She continued to laugh until the end, joking with her family and nurses.  She also enjoyed traveling and made yearly trips to visit her daughter and family in New York.

Lillian will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her and had the privilege to share in her sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Dorothy (Ross) Anderson, brother Vernon and son Wayne.

Lillian is survived by her daughter Beverly (Bernie) Brown, Sackets Harbor, NY; daughter-in-law Marcia Hanson, Isanti, MN; grandchildren Michael (Pam) Johnson of Isanti, MN; Trisha (Joel) Terhaar, Rogers, MN; Kristopher Johnson, Isanti, MN; Jacob Brown of New York City, NY; Thomas Brown, New York City, NY; great grandchildren Brittney Johnson, Mackenzie and Zachary Terhaar and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held on Thursday, June 23rd at Calvary Lutheran Church in Mora.  Rev. Dean Oelfke officiated.  Music was provided by Kerry Long.  Pallbearers were Michael S. Johnson, Kristopher K. Johnson, Jacob R. Brown, Thomas B. Brown, Joel Terhaar and Richard Hanson.  Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.
