A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the Lewis Lake Covenant Church with Rev. Bob DeYoung officiating.

A VISITATION and reviewal will be held from 5-7pm on Friday, April 22, 2011 at the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home & 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

Ralph Wesley Jenison, of Ogilvie, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital of Minneapolis. He was 61 years old.

Ralph was born on June 11, 1949 to parents Jean and Elsie (Barningham) Jenison in Braham, MN. He grew up on the family farm in the Day area, attended Day school and graduated from the Braham High School. After school Ralph worked several odd jobs before enlisting in the US Navy. He was stationed in Guantanamo Bay before his discharge. He returned home to help his parents on the farm, milking cows and farming crops. He eventually took over the farm, and continued to farm until his death.

Ralph married his lifetime partner Judy Hollman in Las Vegas, NV. Ralph and Judy purchased their current home in rural Ogilvie in 1991. Ralph will be dearly missed by his many family and friends.

Ralph had many hobbies including hunting bear and deer, fishing, and watching baseball and football games. He enjoyed going to auctions and collecting things. He and Judy spent some time traveling to warmer destinations. Ralph always made time to spend time with this grandchildren and great grandchildren. Emily and Erica held a special place in Ralph’s heart.

Ralph is preceded in death by his mother Elsie Day Jenison.

He is survived by his loving wife Judy, father Jean Jenison, step-children Tammy (Tim) Smith of Ogilvie, Debra (Mike) Gould of Coon Rapids, Travis Byker of Minneapolis, Lori Peterson of Mora, and Kimberly (Jerald) Gay of Ogilvie; 7 grandchildren Josh, Jill, Allison, Jeremy, Daniel, Emily, and Erica; 7 great grandchildren Dylan, Brody, Cole, Austin, Carly, Amelia, and Ethan; sisters Dorothy Jorgensen and Loraine (Richard) Tieva both of Minneapolis; mother-in-law, Irene Hollman of Minneapolis, 1 niece and 3 nephews, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the Lewis Lake Covenant church with Rev. Bob DeYoung officiating. Honorary Urn bearers were Tim Jorgensen, Matthew Tieva, Michael Tieva, and Jennifer E. Tieva.

    I was once a neighbor to the Jenison family years ago and also went to school with Ralph. Ralph will be missed greatly. My deepest sympathies to Ralph’s family, friends, and community.

    The Jenisons have always been very good friends of our families. I remember when Ralph, Gene and Elsie would come and fill our silo they were fun to be around and did a great job. Raplh you will be missed and I will think of you often.
