Cynthia “Cindy” Carol Caswell of Mora, Minnesota passed away on March 23, 2011. She was 46 years old
Cindy was born December 16, 1964 at Kanabec Hospital in Mora to Gary and Connie (Hendershot) Caswell. Cindy was a life long resident to Mora. She was the oldest of three children.
Cindy graduated from Mora High School in 1983. After high school she completed 5 years at Saint Cloud State to earn her Bachelors Degree in Special Education. Cindy substituted in many different schools, then found her way in to the Medical field working in Medical Records at the Mora Medical Center, Allina Medical Center and FirstLight Health System for the past 25 years.
Cindy had many passions in life, but her favorite was dancing. Cindy and her cousin Bart won their first dance contest at the young age of six, at the Bel Ray Ball Room. They also were the featured exhibition dancers for the Chmielewski Fun Time Show on KDAL-TV for years because they were so young and talented. Cindy continued to dance to local bands with Friends. Her passion was gardening; she loved to spend hours in her garden and taking care of her lawn. And of course, she loved spending time with Family and Friends. She also had a love for Elvis, even her cell phone ring tone was Elvis. Cindy also visited Graceland, the home of Elvis. We now can say, Cindy is at home in her Graceland.
She was preceded in death by her mom, Connie (Hendershot) Caswell; uncle, Tyrone Hendershot; grandfather, Lonnie “Bud” Caswell; and cousin, Chad Bachman.
She was survived by her father, Gary Caswell; brother, Brett Caswell (Kelly) and sister, Kelly Caswell Ripka (Steve); nieces, Jordon and Alysa Caswell; nephews, Shawn, Brandon and Andy Ripka; grandparents, Ron and Millie Hendershot, and Elaine Caswell; aunts and uncles, Judy and Terry Stolquist, Jess and Tammy Hendershot, Les and Kaye Caswell, Marilyn and Butch Bachman, and many, many cousins and friends.

I have many great memories of Cindy from Mora High School – cracking up in Home Ec class, buying her candy bars (a no-no), nicknaming her “CC Rider” because of her family’s love of motorcycles. She was always in a good mood despite her health issues and was a big personality in a small package. I last saw Cindy at the class reunion, and am so glad I did!

I will miss her sense of humor and saying it like it was so eloquently. Her laugh was infectious. She was always eager to help get the job done while finding some humor or uplifting thoughts to share. I will miss you….and your Elvis collection in your office….and the pen I always borrow from you….help I need with a chart….God has one of our angels now….I will miss you!

I was in Arizona when I got the news of your passing and I still find it hard to believe. Way too young and full of life. I will always hear your laughter and see your great smile. I will think of you every time I drive by your house. I will always remember working with you. And I can see you doing the polka – the really fast way that would knock me out if I tried! You will be sorely missed by many. God bless you and your loved ones.
