R. Anderson webRuth O. Anderson, formerly of Dalbo, died on Monday, March 14, 2011 at the Mille Lacs Long Term Care Center in Onamia, MN.

FUNERAL SERVICE will at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Lewis Lake Covenant Church in rural Ogilvie.

VISITATION will be from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Friday, March 18th at Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home in Mora; plus 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.

Ruth O. Anderson, of Dalbo area, was born in Isanti County on February 18, 1919 and peacefully passed away on March 14, 2011 in Mille Lacs Long Term Care Center, Onamia, MN at the age of 92 years, 27 days old.

Ruth was united in marriage to Harvey O. Anderson on August 12, 1939 in St. Paul. They made their first home in Dalbo and also lived in Minneapolis and Coon Rapids for many years. Harvey passed away unexpectedly in 1979.

Ruth enjoyed many camping, fishing and blueberry picking trips with her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved gardening, crafting and visiting. Her door was always open to everyone; a very sweet, kind lady who will be sadly missed by everyone.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey; son David; parents Erik and Mary (Sundberg) Sandell; brothers Ed and Roy; sisters Esther, Minnie and Ellen.

She is survived by her daughter Karen (Pauly) Peterson of Aitkin; son Brian (Jeepee) Anderson of Alaska; son Douglas (Esther) Anderson of Washington state; 2 sisters Hazel Sjoquist of Dalbo and Eunice Hinde of Quamba. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 19th at Lewis Lake Covenant Church in rural Ogilvie with Rev. Bob DeYoung officiating. Music provided by Diane Marie Sutton. Pallbearers are Matthew Peterson, Bradley Anderson, Joshua Heinzen, Sean Aufderhar, Richard Anderson and Jimmy Benson. Interment will be at Dalbo Baptist Cemetery.

  3. What a wonderful long life Ruth lived. I am sure my mother (June) is having a happy reunion with her and maybe even joining that scrabble game.

  4. So saddened to hear of Aunt Ruth’s passing. I am sure she is having a few giggles right now with Ellen & Minnie I have many fond memories of her & Uncle Harvey! My sympathy.

  5. Beautiful grandma, Pick some big agates for me in heaven so we can make a nice paved walking path in the garden.. All My Love Ruthie.
