L. Stassen webLee Garret Stassen of Ogilvie, MN passed away on November 21, 2010. He was 23 years, 11 months and 22 days old.
NOTE: Change of time and place

FUNERAL SERVICE will be at 3:30 PM on Friday, November 26 at Ogilvie High School in Ogilvie.

VISITATION will be from 12:00-3:30 PM on Friday at the school.

Lee Garret Stassen was born on December 1, 1986 in Mora, MN to Dan and Lori Stassen (Engblom). He grew up with three brothers and two step-sisters; he graduated from Ogilvie Public School in 2005. During his school years, Lee enjoyed show choir, the high school musicals, football, baseball, wrestling, and pottery. Starting in his younger years he began his passion of farming with his Uncle Mike. He especially enjoyed working in the fields and later on working with the cattle. Lee dabbled in a variety of other work including; construction, carpentry, sheet metal work and logging. He participated in several fundraising events such as the MS 60 mile bike-a-thon and Relay for Life.
Lee enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, attending Twins games, baking, music, movies and being with friends and family. Lee was a special uncle to his nephews Jonathan and Matthew who affectionately referred to him as Uncle Leef.
Above all else Lee will be remembered for his special smile, gentle spirit and loving presence in all whose lives he touched. Lee was a great friend always ready to lend a listening ear and help out where ever needed. Lee was a wonderful son, grandson, brother and uncle. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Lee is survived by his mother Lori Engblom, father Dan Stassen, step-mother Debee Stassen, brothers Nic (Sarah) Stassen, Travis Stassen (Robyn Koch) & Chad Stassen, step-sisters Bethany Johnson & Cassie Johnson, grandparents Betty Roehlke, Evelyn Stassen, Dave & Diane Berg, nephews, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many many friends.
Lee was preceded in death by grandfathers Ed Stassen, Ray Engblom, Lawrence Lindstrom & Gus Roehlke.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Nov. 26th at the Ogilvie High School with Rev. Robert DeYoung presiding. Honorary Pallbearers were Bruce Gobel, Josh Golden, Thomas Michael, Tom Nordlocken, Rylee Johnston and Mike Folkema. Final disposition by cremation.

  17. My brother knew Lee, i didn’t. My 20yr old brother Jonathan Clough passed away unexpectedly on October 23rd. about 2 months ago. I know what your son Chad is going through. I went to the viewing of Lee for Chad. He was touched, i’m glad i can be there for him especially when i’m one of the very few that understand what he’s going through. I’m very sorry for your loss, i hope one day your pain will lighten.
