She was preceded in death by parents, husband C. Frank, brother Ivan Frase, sisters-in-law Marian Frase and Pearl Swenson, brothers-in-law Verne Haines and Maynard Eastman, and nephew Richard Frase. Beatrice is survived by son Jerry (Janice) of Arlington, Virginia; daughter Darla of Minneapolis; grandson Paul of Portland, Oregon; sisters Mildred Haines of Mora and Hazel Eastman of Nisswa; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Beatrice was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Mora. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school grades 1 through 8. She was a 1935 graduate of Mora High School. After graduation Bea worked as a live-in housekeeper in Minneapolis until returning to Mora, where she married Frank in May, 1943. They farmed in the Ogilvie and Mora areas until Frank retired in 1976. Along with homemaking tasks, Bea enjoyed young children, gardening, fishing, playing piano by ear, and shopping for bargains.
Shortly after Frank’s passing, Bea moved to Quamba, where she was cared for by the Weidendorf, Oquist, and Justen families. There she enjoyed playing cards and meals at the foster home and in area restaurants. Bea was featured in the book Small Town Minnesota A to Z in the Quamba article. Throughout her life, Beatrice had a deep faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Special thanks to Rev. Greg Coop; Bea’s caregivers through the years; the staff and volunteers of Golden Living Center, and the staff of Fairview Lakes Hospital and Hospice Service.
