Shirley G. Helmbrecht, of Brook Park died on Tuesday, Oct. 5 at the Villa Health Care Center in Mora. She was 84 years old.

Shirley is survived by: her husband, Bernard, sons, Bernard Jr. of Cambridge, Allen of Mora, Rick (Leona) of Big Lake & Daniel of Brook Park; daughter, Judy Roeschlein (Tom) of Mora; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Fred (Karen) Bedore of Mora; sisters, Sharon (George) Nelson of Kansas and Sally Evenson of St. Michael,MN, other relatives and freinds.
She was born June 20, 1926 in Minneapolis to Edward Bedore and Leila (Tucker) Bedore.
She was united in marriage to Bernard Helmbrecht in 1945. They settled in Mora and raised 5 children.
She was a stay at home mother and later grandmother and great-grandmother. She was known as Granny to all that loved her. Her grandhcildren and great-grandchildren would engineer sick days from school just so Granny could make her famous bacon speaghtetti and baby them. Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting, beading, cooking, and most of all garage sales. She was the garage sale queen if anyone in the family needed something she made it her mission to find it at a bargain price.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, mother-in-law, sister-in-law and aunt.
Her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved the holidays or any reason for a family get together. She will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Leila (Tucker) Bedore; brother, Edward (Bud) Bedore; nephew, David Bedore; and brother-in-law, Noris Evenson.
She is survived by her husband, Bernard Helmbrecht; children, Bernard Jr. Helmbrecht of Cambridge; Allen Helmbrecht of Mora; Rick (Leona) Helmbrecht of Big Lake; July (Tom) Roeschlein of Mora; Daniel Helbrecht of Brook Park; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Fred (Karen) Bedore of Mora; sisters, Sharon (George) Nelson of Garden City, Kansas; and Sally Evenson of St. Michael, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Private services will be held at a later date.
