B. Lemke webBonnie Lemke, of Ogilvie, died peacefully on Monday, September 27, 2010 at the University Hospital Fairview. She was 57 years old.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Grace Lutheran Church in Mora.

A Memorial Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, October 1, 2010 at Grace Lutheran Church.

Bonnie Lemke was born in Roseau, MN on February 6, 1953. She grew up in Minneapolis, and moved to Ogilvie in 1979.

She loved horses, fishing, hunting; but most of all a love of serving God. She was involved in Via de Christo, Charis, Women’s Bible Study, and she started a Prayer Shawl Ministry at Grace Lutheran Church in Mora.

Bonnie was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2002. During her battle with Cancer she was actively involved in Relay for Life, MOCA (Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance), advocating Ovarian Cancer awareness by giving presentations and writing articles for the newspapers; speaking out or volunteering her time whenever she could.

She was preceded in death by her mother Alice Mae Holeton and father Edward Frances Dorion.

She is survived by her husband Randy Lemke of Ogilvie; children Michelle (Todd) Eich of Avon, MN, Lynn Anderson of St. Cloud, Joshua (Sarah) Anderson of Pierz, MN; grandchildren Erik, Brianna, Zachary, Kyle, Jacob and Aaron; siblings Vi (Wally) Bjorkstrand of Mpls., Ed (Sue) Dorion of Jacobson, MN, Jim Dorion of Mpls., Fran (Tom) Mankowski of Mpls., Robert Dorion of Washington, Susan (Chimezie) Ukaonu of Mpls; plus many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, October 2nd at Grace Lutheran Church in Mora. Rev. Brenda Wicklund officiated. Music was provided by Jacki Peterson, Mary Brelie and the Grace Lutheran Choir.
Memorials preferred to the MOCA (Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance).

  2. So sorry for your loss. I worked with Bonnie years ago at Isanti County Family Services. She was always patient, kind, and a joy to work with. It is hard to lose someone so young. Your family will be in my prayers.
