MYRTLE V. PRADER

M. Prader webMyrtle V. Prader, of Milaca, formerly of Ogilvie, died on Saturday, Sept. 25 at Elim Home of Milaca. She was 96 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICE will be Wednesday, Sept. 29 at 2:00 pm. at Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home in Mora with Rev. Tom Sahlstrom officiating.

VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Myrtle Viola Prader was born on June 15, 1914 to Thomas and Ina (Richmeire) Sims of Johnson, Minnesota. She was the third oldest of seven children.

Myrtle graduated from the eighth grade at Ortonville County School on July 23, 1929. She married George Prader on August 23, 1932. They farmed in Johnson, Donnelly and Morris areas before coming to Ogilvie in 1965. They had ten children.

Myrtle worked at Dibbos and Sportsman’s Caf, plus ten years at Amoco in Mora. In 1979 she retired at the age of 65.

Her hobbies included gardening, flowers, long walks, going to church and visiting with her family and friends.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband George; two sons Donald and Jerry; her parents; five brothers; one sister; two grandsons and one great-grandson.

She is survived by eight children: Wallace (Norma) of Mankato, Donna (Jerry) Murphy of Saginaw, Curt (Ione) of Herman, Tom (Mary) of Minneapolis, Sue Nagle of Zimmerman, Barb (Lonny) Stucky of Mora, Carol Carlson of Bock, Fred (Betty) of Anoka; 24 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law Lillian Sims of Colorado; plus several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 29th at Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home in Mora. Rev. Tom Sahlstrom officiated. Pallbearers were Todd Murphy, David Sims, Jeff Carlson, Keith Prader, Mark Carlson and Kris Prader

Interment was at Graceland Cemetery in Ogilvie.
