g.bismarkGeraldine Bismark, of Cambridge, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at GracePointe Crossing West Gables of Cambridge. She was 90 years old.

A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 10, 2010 at Stanchfield Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Cope presiding.

VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service at church.

INTERMENT will be in the Stanchfield Baptist Cemetery.

Geraldine Bismark, of Cambridge, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at GracePointe Crossing West Gables of Cambridge. She was 90 years old.
Geraldine Adeline Larson Bismark, daughter of Alfred and Blanche (Okerlund) Larson, was born on Dec. 13th, 1919 in the town of Grandy, Isanti Co. MN. She attended school at Grandy and other rural schools. The family lived on various farms in the area, finally settling west of Stanchfield.
On Jan. 21, 1938, Geraldine was united in marriage to Clarence Bismark at the Stanchfield Baptist parsonage. They moved into a home in Stanchfield. Then in 1939 they moved to Iowa for a short time where Clarence was employed by Evans Construction Co. working on power lines.
Geraldine and Clarence moved to Grasston where they lived for 35 yrs. Geraldine was a cook at the Grasston School, and then worked until retirement at the Cambridge State Hospital. They built a retirement home in Stanchfield. Clarence died in 1994. Geraldine continued to live in their Stanchfield home, eventually moving to Cambridge. Geraldine walked everyday, enjoyed doing word seek puzzles, playing cards and bingo. Spending time with family was very important to Geraldine.
Geraldine entered the Grace Pointe Crossing Care Center July 1st, eventually passing away there on Sept. 7th.
She is survived by one son, Claire and his wife Sharon of Askov; three daughters Sharon and husband Curt Johnson of Mora, Sandra and husband Al Thomas of Quamba, and Sheila and husband Bill Japp of Cambridge; 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Geraldine was preceded in death by parents, Alfred and Blanche Larson; husband Clarence; one son Dan Jerel; granddaughter Lisa Kelling; and great grandson Allen Kelling; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
