FUNERAL SERVICES will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the Calvary Lutheran Church of Mora with Rev. Dean Oelfke presiding.

VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the servcie at 1:00pm at the church.

Yvonne Louise Hardy passed away on August 4, 2010 after a courageous 21/2 year battle of ovarian cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family and her beloved kitties. She was 69 years old.
Yvonne was born on June 17, 1941 in Crosby ND to Ralph and Bertha (Norby) DeJardine. Her twin sister, Mary died at birth. As a child she had many animals on her Valley Ranch farm in Alkabo, ND. She enjoyed riding her horses and befriended countless cats, dogs, sheep, cows and was involved in 4H winning many ribbons. She graduated from Alkabo School in 1959 and then obtained her teaching degree at Minot State College of ND in 1961. Yvonne taught in Kenmare, ND and then moved to Bismarck ND where she taught 1st grade. There she met her future husband, Roger at a mixer dance in September 1964. She married Roger Hardy on August 7, 1965 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Bismarck, ND. Yvonne continued teaching at Richolt School until 1968 when her first child, Roger Jr. was born, followed by Donovan, Steven and Karen. In Bismarck she helped her husband run various businesses including her own whiteware ceramics enterprise. . In 1978 they moved to Brooks, MN and then to Mora, MN where she helped manage Camperville Campground. In 1982 they moved into their present home in Mora where Yvonne and Roger began Von Ro Corporation. She was president and worked with her husband in the RV Sales for many years until health reasons forced her to do administrative work out of her home office. Yvonne was such a thoughtful person with God as her pilot. She was active in Calvary Lutheran Church and took the time to send cards and notes to many of her friends there. She loved all animals and adopted many cats that were given the best of care. She loved doing crossword puzzles, reading scriptures, writing journals, and spending time with her family. Yvonne also delighted in visiting with her new grandson, Christian in recent months. Yvonne and Roger were three days short of their 45th wedding anniversary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister; and niece Julaine.
Yvonne is survived by husband Roger of Mora; sons Roger Jr. (Chris Busby) of Signal Hill, CA, Donovan of Mora, Steven and wife Shari of Mora, daughter Karen and husband Abraham Sims of Corpus Christi, TX; sisters Marlys (Ken) Reistad of Faulkton SD, Joyce (Sam) Keller of Bismarck, ND; brother Larry DeJardine (Marilyn Binde) of Crosby ND; grandchildren Jamie Lynn Hardy and Christian Thomas Hardy; many other relatives, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends from MN and ND.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, August 8th at Calvary Lutheran Church in Mora. Rev. Dean Oelfke officiated. Music was provided by Deb Menze, Laurie, Dan, Lynda and Mike Nelson. Pallbearers were sons Roger Hardy Jr, Donovan Hardy, Steven Hardy; son-in-law Abraham Sims; friends Pau Mattson and Joe Hauer. Honorary pallbearers were Virgil Hardy, Leonard Hardy, Delores Hardy, Steve Splitstoesser and Peggy Ryan.
Yvonne’s body is being donated to the U of M for Cancer Research. The family would prefer memorials in lieu of flowers.

    Roger and family, we were saddened to hear of the passing of Yvonne, we hope you can remember the good times and know she is at peace and is no longer suffering.

    Yvonne was such a beautiful person. Our world will not be the same without her. I know Yvonne is smiling down on us from heaven. God bless her.
