Eldon F. Peterson was born October 10, 1916 at the family farm in Grass Lake Township in Kanabec County, Minnesota. His parents were Alfred Theodore Peterson and Bertha Marie (Nelson) Peterson.

Eldon was confirmed at the Braham Mission Covenant church in 1930. Later that year he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Eldon attended Windom School until the eight grade and then went on to Braham High School, graduating in 1935. During seventh and eighth grades he was the Windom school janitor. He also spent a term at Northwestern Schools in Minneapolis (now Northwestern College in Roseville, MN).

After graduation, he farmed with his dad until 1947 when the farm was sold and he, his father and mother moved to Braham. Eldon then worked as an electrician for a few years, and then became Braham’s painter and wallpaper man until his retirement. He was always willing to lend a hand to those who needed help.

He married Alvera Dahlberg on May 24, 1952 at the Braham Covenant Church. Two children were born to this marriage, Mark and Karen.

Eldon was active at the Braham Evangelical Covenant Church. He was the adult Sunday school teacher for 50 years, and served as Sunday school superintendent, deacon, and church chairman. He also sang in a men’s quartet and church choir.

Eldon’s hobby was helping others. He spent many hours helping with home remodeling projects at his children’s homes.

  1. Dear Alvera, Mark, Karen and families – Eldon was a man that lived his faith. I have always enjoyed the friendship our families have shared over the years. I have so many fond memories growing up in the Covenant Church with Mark & Karen. I have the greatest admiration of Eldon and Alvera and all that they have done for the church, community, and family. All my love and sympathy, Carol

  2. I was sorry to read of Eldon’s passing. I remember you Alvera, and Eldon, from my days at Braham and the Covernant Church. My parents (Evelyn & Woodrow Peterson), enjoyed spending time you together with the Nordenstrom’s and Joel and MaryMae Erickson. My thooughts and prayers are with you, Alvera, and your family at this difficult time. God Bless you.
