Roger Althoff, of rural Mora, died on Tuesday, June 29, 2010. He was 64 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICES will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 5th at Zion Lutheran Church in Mora.

VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.

Roger T. Althoff was born June 3, 1946 at the Kanabec Hospital in Mora to Theodore and Mary (Elling) Althoff. He grew up on the family farm, the sixth of eight children. Roger graduated from Mora High School in 1964.

In 1965 he was employed at Mora Manufacturing Company (now EPC). There he met and was united in marriage to Joby VanderVelden on June 26, 1971 along with a daughter Trudy. Roger retired from EPC in 2004.

Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and his grandchildren. Roger will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joby and grandson Aaron Neuschwander.

Roger is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Trudy and Al Neuschwander of Mora; grandson Christopher of Inver Grove Heights; three great granddaughters Abigail, Kendra and Reina; brothers Arnold (Diane) of Cambridge, Marcus (Jan) of Hinckley, Gordon of Mora, Robert (Kris) of Pine City; sisters Darlene Pearson of Cambridge, Alvera (Bill) Posey of Mora and JoAnn Breska of Pine City; plus many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service was held of Monday, July 5th at Zion Lutheran Church in Mora. Rev. Greggory Coop officiated. Final disposition was by cremation. Inurnment will be at a later date.

  3. We are so saddened for what the family is going through, words cannot begin to express the sorrow. Trudy, you know we are just a phone call away for anything, anytime. Just remember how much we Love you guys and that Aaron has a great buddy to hang with now.

  4. Roger meant the world to me,he taught me many things!I will truly miss him! May he rest in peace! The lord must of needed someone to figure out a problem and someone who could stay calm no matter what! That was Roger!
