Howard W. Giller was born on January 20, 1928 in Bone Lake Wisconsin to Martin and Bertha (Larsen) Giller. He was the second of five siblings and attended country school till 3rd grade. At the age of nine he started hauling milk with his father to help support the family. Later in life he joined the U.S. Army and served his country, working as a mechanic in motor pool. Upon returning home he met Mary Ann Boche and they married on October 18, 1955 in St. Paul. They later moved to Wisconsin. To this union 3 children were born; Darla, Debbie and Vickie.
Howard was employed with many jobs during his working career, doing mechanical work as his favorite, but he was the jack of all trades. For someone who only had a 3rd grade education there wasn’t anything he could not fix or do. Hobbies included hunting, fishing and listening to old time music. He was always ready to help anyone at anytime.
Howard was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be truly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
He was preceded in death by parents Martin and Bertha; wife Mary Ann; one sister Mildred; two brothers Virgil and Eugene; son-in-law Harold.
Howard is survived by children Carol Morse of Mora, Conway “Butch” Monfeldt of St. Paul Park, Joyce (Jerry) Johnson of Siren, WI; Darla (James) Peppin of Mora, Debbie (Don) Harron of Grasston, Vickie (David) Riegert of Little Falls; one brother Merlyn of Lusk, Wyoming; 16 grandchildren Todd, Bradley, Krista, Kenny, Valarie, Dale, Matthew, Conway, Jessica, Jason, Janet, Troy, Ashley, Travis, Stacy and Justin; 9 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
